Free Bike Disposal & Recycling: Donate Your Used Bicycles
Have old bikes you don’t want? We’ll pick them up for free!
We Return Unwanted And Abandoned Bicycles Back Into The Community
Hundreds of bicycles arrive in Canadian Landfills on a daily basis and these are bicycles that could (and should) be repaired and made available to riders in need. Instead of throwing them away, we encourage people to donate older, unwanted, or abandoned bikes which we then repair and / or recycle. We collect donated bicycles in order to up-cycle them and keep them out of the landfill. We recycle what cannot be fixed and refurbish what can be used.
The bikes that get donated normally end up in 3 groups:
REPAIRABLE
If the bike can be fixed up to get back on the road, a professional bike mechanic will give it a full tune up and repair it, using either new or used parts. These are then sold in our store as very reasonably priced up-cycled used bikes.
UNREPAIRABLE
If the bike is beyond repair, we ensure that it gets stripped down as efficiently as possible. Usable parts are kept to mend other bikes and the remaining parts are separated into steel, aluminum, rubber and hard plastic to be properly recycled.

We also work with a number of local charities and organizations to get some of our bikes into the hands of the people that need them most. We have strong ties within our communities and we will continue to connect with them.

Please see our PICKUP MAP below before scheduling an appointment. Although it is difficult for us to accommodate single bike pickups outside this area, we can sometimes make arrangements for pickups of multiple bikes. Please contact us at: canadianbicyclerecycling@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding a pickup outside our area.

If you are a charity or organization that would be interested in benefiting from our service, we are always glad to try and help any way we can.
Frequently Asked Questions:
I need to dispose of a lot of bikes. How many will you accept?
How many do you have? We can pick-up quite a few in a single trip but you may want to send us a message first so we can coordinate it properly.
Does this cost me anything?
Nope, our services are completely free. We’ll come to your property and remove your bikes free of charge.
Where are your bike disposal services available?
We currently serve the Metropolitan Toronto and Vancouver areas with plans to expand in the near future.
Do you accept all bikes?
As long as there are at least some working parts, we’ll pretty much take anything off your hands. WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING KIDS BIKES DUE TO OVERSTOCK
What’s the difference between ‘recycling’ and ‘up-cycling’ bikes?
Some of the bikes we get can be repaired and re-used. Others are stripped of their working / salvageable parts and are used on other bikes. Whatever is left gets properly recycled.
Do I get a receipt for a charitable donation?
Unfortunately, no. We are not a registered charity and do not issue tax receipts.
